Just wondering besides price difference why.so many choose an Xd over the emp?
My cousin has an emp.40.and I have an Xd 40 and looks, handling, performance, accuracy w the emp beats my Xd all day.

Two totally different platforms. One is a tiny sized 1911 designed to carry, and the other is a double stack polymer striker fired pistol.
There really isn't anything to compare about the two they are different products with different customers in mind.

Like TeeRex said, apples to oranges. Different flavors for different people.
Price and wait time would likely be the main reason for people choosing polymer, striker-fired pistols.

What does double stack mean?

It takes magazines that stagger the rounds side by side. 1911's for the most part are single stack.
Double Stack guns can hold more rounds, but the grip is wider.

The price of the EMP is almost twice that of an XD.
