And a big thanks to The_Dog...he gave me a Texas HTF challenge coin! Its really cool, and a awesome piece of ARF history!

When I get back from my Boys birthday party maybe I'll fill in what I Bought!

I tried to give one to j97531 also, but I was a bonehead and had left that one in the Jeep.  I was embarrassed, so it's sitting on my desk with a post-it note with his call-sign.  I gotta find some more of those.

I enjoyed the show on Saturday I was there with a good friend and my 7 year old son. I saw several nice firearms that I wanted to purchase but I was unsure of their value. One in particular was a nice 98k that a gentleman on the second row from the right about 1/3 the way down had. I wasn't sure if it was worth his $450 asking price but the rifle looked nice.

I wished I had checked the thread before I went so I could have met y'all. I was wearing a black Colion Noir Keep Texas Tactical Shirt and I am 6'3" 260lbs so I stick out like a sore thumb.

I ended up only buying a can of M33/M17 linked ball for a friend to feed his new range toy and a silver 1oz coin for my son.

I was talking to the two guys by the exit at their table about the events in Virginia tomorrow and they had no clue as to what is going on there. That really instills confidence in what until the last ten years or so used to be a fairly effective group of folks.

I will help where I can during the next session. I have a feeling we will have our hands full with Abbott and company. Good bills need to be supported and bads one opposed no matter the author or sponsors.

Getting my gear ready for Tyler this weekend.  I'll be in my normal corner in the main room opposite end of the stage.  Hopefully i'll be able to trade off some of my old gun junk for new to me gun junk!   If you make it to Tyler gunshow this weekend stop by and say hi.  I'll have the big grey baldor buffer that I use for knife sharpening, and lots of various stuff i'm trying to trade off.

Haven’t been in hometown in a while and didn’t see this thread before I posted a Big Town thread earlier today.

How’s the pricing at Big Town? Overpriced or reasonable?

I picked up a beat up Inland M1 carbine in a Choate stock in fall 2018 for $500 cash.  So there are good deals and stuff that's overpriced.

Tyler gunshow report.  I set up in my normal corner, it started off kind of slow.  About noon it seems like the crowd picked up and got pretty crowded.  Lots of trading for me, acquired few new toys, got rid of some of my old toys.  Did enough sharpening that my left arm is now bare, guess i'll have to start shaving the right arm earlier than normal on Sunday.  Got two Garand barrels for a total of 120, still looking for the rest of the parts to assemble a receiver I got for about 30...…. all in all a good time was had by everyone I talked to.

I did find out someone was taking pics holding my Tavor with me in the background, and it was posed on fbook, don't care for that.

If any of you make it to the Tyler show, stop by and see me.  I'm in the main room opposite end from the stage with the big grey baldor buffer I use for sharpening.

I need to make that show some day.  I've got Bar-B-Q buddies that live in the area who I'm sure I can corrupt into attending.  Maybe combine it with a campout at Tyler SP.

If you do camp out, let me know when you will be coming.  I usually burn a vacation day on Friday too whenever I do a show now so I wont get to work the night shift, and I do have plenty of time off.

Understood.  The big trick is getting a slot at Tyler (and a kitchen pass if the boss isn't coming along).  It's easier if I'm tent camping.  Less easy if I'm bring Dog Mahal.  I need to research this since I don't even know where in Tyler the show is.  But I'll post up if it's going to happen.

If nothing else, you could slide out Friday and help me drink bourbon for an hour or two.

ETA:  Just dug into the Lone Star page.  Looks like the next show is in late April - I'm hoping to be down at the coast for some Endless Summer action so won't make it then.  Next show after that is June 6-7.  That's probably the soonest I'd make it.  Early June could be a good time at the SP.  I just checked the TWPD website, Tyler is already half full on RV sites that weekend.  Imagine that.  So I better make that call soon, unless I want to sweat in a tent.

Of course, it's an easy day trip.  So I could always just do that.  But Bourbon...

Unless you live in Grayson/Fannin/Lamar county you might want to think about Bonham. It's usually pretty small and Fuddy.
This show usually has a collection of pawn shop guns and a fair amount of old lever actions and post-war .22's. There might be a floor trade or two but it's usually pretty lame. YMMV

Just got back from Winsboro show.  Looked ok, but it is a small venue deep in the pineywoods of East Texas.  Lots of good deals there on guns you normally will not see in big cities.  I traded into a Steyr M95 with a 50cal can full of 8x56R ammo and some clips for what I thought was a good deal.  One guy had a few old Marlin levers for decent prices, all pre safety.  I'm not doing my normal sharpening there, but will be there tomorrow after I wake up.  Working overnight tonight, so i'll get off at 0600, do not want to risk ruining a knife because I've had no sleep.  Might bring more trading junk tomorrow when I go.

I have cut way back on shows for now...I was hired as the Collectible Gun and Cutlery Shop Manager for the new Scheels in The Colony...so been super busy with working at the store until Grand Opening April 4th.

Hopefully you guys will check it out, the store itself is 331,000 square feet, the gun shop itself is over 5,500 square feet, with separate areas for MSR's and Premium/Collectible guns.

Its going to be pretty amazing...have been getting a lot of range time with reps, trying lots of cool product, including STI pistols, Dead Air cans, Nightforce optics...next week we have Daniel Defense, Kimber, and Silencerco.

Anyway, that is why I have been not at any shows since last year....its an AWESOME job...

I'll have to come by to see.  Will take you off the gunshow lists until you tell me otherwise.

Fort Worth is a good show.  Crowded.  1 row short of the largest it's ever been.  Parking was $10 in the garage and awful.  4 events going on @ Will Rogers today.  Best bet is to go straight north on Montgomery and hang a right into the garage, or go to services @ the Lutheran church across the street and leave your car.

@ least 4 ARFCOMers came out today, cheers.

I for sure won't be able to make it to lunch. I don't get off work until 2.

What time is everyone staying until?

Fort Worth is a slightly bigger show and the restaurant is closer.  Motown_Steve and I went to lunch @ noon, and @ 5:00 we were still one row short @ the show.

The Sinister and I will likely still be there @ 5:00 PM, much to his chagrin.

My Saturday just got "complicated".   I may not make lunch or the show.  Sorry.  I got blindsided by "oh...  by the way."
