Couple of quick notes...

Against my better judgement, I did get tables at the DACA show for this weekend...not looking for a barn burner thats for sure, but its 5 minutes from the house and I like shooting the shit with the guys I know, and may sell a few things...

I will have a decent non-RC 98k pout there I am thinning from my collection, maybe one or two other guns...in case anyone is looking for a decent 98k...

Also rumor has it, this may be the last show at South Fork for DACA, again rumor is South Fork wants to double their fee for the weekend going forward. Now supposedly DACA has a contract in place for the shows, so I don't know how SF can just do that, but more will be known after the DACA meeting Saturday evening...

If it ends up being the last DACA show at SF, it may end up being the last DACA show period. Doubt they will be able to find a new venue for the fall shows on such short notice, more should be known after this weekend...

Updated the OP.  That would be sad for DACA.  They spearheaded the gun show movement after the passage of the 68 "Gun Control" (Fuck your Constitutional Rights) Act.

Please note:  We have a particular issue in catching cancelled shows, especially when a promoter or listing site doesn't or can't update their website.  If you know a show has been cancelled, please post up or drop us a line so we can remove it from the schedule and save someone a long drive with Biden's gas prices.  If you're wondering what shows are listed, our box runs from Abilene to Bossier City, LA, and from the Red River to Waco.  We also include the biannual Tulsa show, as well as SHOT.  Notably, we do not post shows south of Waco in the Temple/Fort Hood area - unless there are no north Texas shows scheduled that weekend.  We are blessed in north Texas w/ active Promoters, so happily we have very few open weekends.

So what's the scoop on the ND at the Ft Worth show yesterday morning?

From what I heard, a vendor shot his table buddy w/ a badly tied loaded gun before we opened.  Table buddy released from ER and home by lunch.

I assume the vendor is banned from all future Premier shows in accordance w/ their published policy.

I learned today from one of the lady's at the show office, someone at the show, not the shooter, dropped the mag but didnt clear the chamber.  They zip tied the gun.  Shooter adjusted the zip tie and BAM!, round to the shoulder somewhere.  

I'm kinda not sure about that.  Before the ND we vendors were supposed to tie off our guns.  To me I'd think he tied it off and got a bang.  

But I dunno....  After the shot, when we were coming in, they made us get a cop to tie off our stuff.

If only there were a set of rules that would prevent these things from happening?

In a gun store, and particularly in a gun show, there is often no safe direction to point a gun when handling it.  Even when I have customers check the sights on the .22s I show them, they have to transition from floor to ceiling, which means they inevitably flag 20-30 people at the larger shows.  The guns on my table are either pointed at me, the vendors behind me, the vendors across the aisle, or people standing on either end of the island.

In a gun industry convention, like the recent NRA show in Dallas, all the display guns have the firing pins shortened.  At a gun show, that's not possible, the guns are for sale, so all the promoters require guns to be tied.  Premier has 2 pages of instructions on how to tie each type of gun:

That's awesome, whoever did it was still a complete idiot.  You yourself said it occurred before the show opened.  It ain't THAT crowded to not flag someone with a loaded weapon.
