Yeah.  I'm out.  Damnit.

Good show.  Packed as usual, but was able to find parking in the back w/o much trouble.  $8 for teenagers, $9 for adults w/ a $1 .mil discount.

Saw a $400 non-GI but GI compatible carbine, $700 Mini-14.  FN 57s are not trending downward yet @ the show.  Picked up some 125 grn Cowboy Action loads for the Sinister's new .38s.

@HenryKnoxFineBooks thanks for coming out.  We had an entire Army table @ Soulman's.

Texas Motor Speedway.  It's a big oval that cars drive around in the fastest traffic jam in the Metroplex.  It's right by Alliance Airport, which is a really long, straight strip of concrete.

It's also a small show. The gun to junk ratio was very low.

Not going to Sherman gun show (they are historically awful) but best BBQ in the area is probably the Cackle and Oink on Texoma Parkway.

YourNewGun doesn't seem completely on their feet yet.

Their website goes to a plumbing company.  The plumbing company seems to know about the gun show, and transfers you to a VM box so you can leave a message.

Their Facebook looks as if they were a gun shop that went out of business.  One of the phone #s there goes to a former employee who gave me another phone #, which I have texted.

Ah ha!  We got a response - yes, there is a show this weekend.

ETA:  And confirmed w/ the Choctaw Casino.

Not unless you want to make an hour & a half road trip to Durant Oklahoma.  I'll pay gas money one way if you're game.  Otherwise I'm going to take the boy to shoot revolvers tomorrow.  Wanna come?

Fellas, I have to confess I've triple booked myself this weekend.  It's the North Texas Irish Festival, the Red Elvises are in town, we have two Premier gun shows, and Fatalwishes' daughter is graduating Esthetician's college.  I can't make lunch on Saturday, and 407 is closed Sunday.  If y'all will go w/o me, I'll post it up in the thread title.  I'm gonna try to make TMS Saturday morning, but the Red Elvises are in town...

I forgot to post on the Durant show.  Very nice venue. I think it's in the building the original bingo hall was in. I would say it's about the size of the Allen show if it was all in one hall.
There were a few RVs and fishing boats and a few non gun tables (mostly female clothing and jewelry) but tons of handguns, a fair amount of scopes and parts, a small amount of black gun stuff, and tons of nice bolt action rifles and shotguns. One thing I did not see was floor trades. I saw one guy with a British Enfield he said was chambered in .308. I saw no one else walking the floor with anything to sell.
If Texans could buy handguns there, it would have been an excellent show.

BTW: there was a guy there selling stun guns. He fired that sum bitch up every 30 seconds or so. As a former power lineman, my butt puckers every time I hear that sound.

Updated title.  Due to my newfound gun shilling employment, I may have to move some of our dining outs to Sundays, which tends to make BBQ a little trickier.

I believe it, but they've not updated their website & there's nothing on Will Rogers' website about a cancellation either.  Any links?

ETA:  Not on their Facebook page or website, but their voicemail says it's cancelled:

Canton was about half the size of normal.  i'm guessing that most of us on here are about half prepper mindset anyway, and the gunshow crowd is about the same.  Sometimes just staying away is best, and why we like to live outside the city. Everyone I talked to said it was pretty slow.  Although I did get a S&W 19 6" for a good price, and it is even pinned and recessed!  Now to wait for the pollen to go down a bit to make it to a range...…

Little update.  Just got an Email from the promotor for Longview, and it is canceled.  From what I understand Longview and Gregg County have declared an emergency and are shutting down a lot of things.  Promoter is Classic Arms Productions, not sure of their websight.

Well, the Granbury show is cancelled, but they've moved it to Azle.  I don't think it's going to come off, but interesting.
