These guys are some good people. Was at the gun show at 70/chambers today. Lots of rip-off artists there. Walked over to 5280 armory's bench, and find a CMMG lower receiver for $150. That might sound expensive, but if you buy a lower from CMMG, it's $119, then the transfer fee + shipping Adds up to pretty much the same amount, or just a bit less to buy it directly from them. All in all, I feel good. They had a good selection too. |
Actually I went to the shop last month on a Saturday & they were packed! I found it easier to do business with them at Tanner. |
Next time be sure to bring a leash or treats (SA Battle Pack) so it knows who to follow! Some crackhead tried to steal a pistol from them (5280) on Saturday @ Crossroads. Frickin thieves suck! |

Hey Guys. I WAS THERE!!! I SAW THE WHOLE THING!!! The guy that tried to steal the handgun that is. OK.. .Here is the story first hand not passed down. This young kid from CA with his girlfriend and 4 other miscreants were walking around the show. Witnessed by the whole show. About 2pm he was at 5280 armory and picked up a handgun. 1911. Then just walked off with it. Someone saw him do it and called out. Matt, (at 5280 armory) yealed at him and he started running. A huge ruccus insued. At about the exit door Nick ( a vendor at the show that sells M1 Carbine stuff) jumped over his tables and gave chase. Ray ( a magazine vendor at the entrance door jumped over his tables also and gave chase. Kevin (the guy watching the exit door) grabed the guy as he was running out the double doors. He was able to break free and headed twards the two sets of exit doors past the loby. That's when Nick tackled him. Followed by Ray and a couple other guys. They all held him down until Aurora PD arived. About 1min later. It was awesome. WHAT A FREAKIN IDIOT!!! And the best part was this yahoo was there saying I'm sorry I f'd up! Well no sh*t! hahaha Just thought you guys would like to know. If you get a chance stop by and tell Nick and Ray they rock!!! |

Well according to the COP he will probably get something like probation. It was his first offense. And it was attempted theft. Not actuall theft. WTF???hinkOh on a second note. I forgot to tell you about the girlfriend... She was waiting in the car for him.... The getaway car that is. And the 4 other guys they were with were just down the streat. They took off running when they saw what was going on. I say it should be open season on these lil base tards. On second thought we should send them all to the Marines and grow them up a bit. |

| I talked to one of the fine ladies at 5280 today...she said the cop offered them to go higher, but it would require the cops take the gun into evidence, and the employees at 5280 decided they didnt want to go 2 years or more with their $900 pistol in the evidence room lockup... |

AAMAZING! AAMAZING! AAMAZING! This shop, is by far, THE BEST gun shop in all of Colorado! They have an AAMAZING inventory, an AAMAZING staff, and AAMAZING prices! The second that I walked through those doors, I knew, this was the gun shop for me. I found myself drooling over the beautiful AR's and Ak's, what a vast variety! The handgun display is fantastic, and the accessories are great! And just when I thought that I had it all, I was treated with the utmost care. The staff at 5280 is unbelievable, each and every one of them has a unique personality that would suit anyone. They have knowledge, they have humor, they have the super-friendly, and the down-to-buisness, they have the talkers, and the listeners, the men, and women. This shop is extremely popular from what I can tell, I have constantly been hearing remarkable things about this enterprise, and now I know why! In Colorado? Out of state? It doesn't matter. 5280 truely is, your one stop gun shop! |
No way Jensen arms by a long shot with customer service and prices. Gina is a lovely lady and aways has a smile but I still drive to jenses before i would go to 5280 just my humble opinion. |
After spending considerable time in both shops 5280 will ALWAYS get the nod. They have always had a better selection of firearms and you don't have to deal with Bob's or the cashiers moods. The staff at Jensens has always seemed a bit standoffish and one time when I called up there looking for a particular item I was actually told by the gal on the phone "I don't have the time to look for you now, can you call back later?" I politley replied that I dont' have the time to spend my money at their store. Customer service my ass! Jensens seems to cater to the LEO crowd while Matt & Gina @ 5280 take care of the regular Joe. And they certainley ALWAYS remember who you are. Even at the shows when the looky-loos are 4 deep at the tables the staff has always MADE the time to say hi and ask how you are. 2 entirely different business theorys I guess. 5280 in the 10 ring! Jensens = Maggies drawers! |
| JENSEN'S DOES HAVE LE GEAR BUT AS FAR AS THE GUNS AND ACCESSORIES, THEIR PRICING AND GREAT INVENTORY CATERS TO EVERYONE! THEY ARE A VERY BUSY SHOP AND THERE ARE MANY GOOD REASONS WHY. IT IS NOT UNREASONABLE TO HAVE TO EITHER WAIT OR CALL BACK WHEN THEY ARE ALL BUSY AS HELL WITH A STORE FULL OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE DRIVEN (SOMETIMES LONG DISTANCES) TO GET THERE. I HAVE BEEN ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE AND APPRECIATE THE ATTENTION OF THE SALESPERSON I AM WORKING WITH. |
Ha! I've been to Jensens and I was not impressed in the slightest. Their costumer service blows, their inventory blows, and their location blows. Prices are, "okay", but 5280's are better, they are the package deal. Jensens is crap. |

Hmm that's odd I have the opposite opinion, save for 5280 being crap. 5280, They're ok. And of course they have good customer service, no one's ever in there. If I want a deal I'll drive to Jensen. 'course I should keep my mouth shut until I'm stocked up on mags. Overall their prices are as close to internet pricing as you're going to find local. My burris rings were $1 more than the lowest price I found anywhere on the net and I didn't have to wait. As far a customer service, well they're busy sometimes you have to have patience and wait your turn. |

BLUF: Both are worth shopping at. Period. Both have a good selection of stuff specific to their target audience, and both have good prices. Both are busy (at least every time I've been in both) and yes, sometimes customer service suffers. But what does it hurt if you have to wait 10 minutes more to get your turn? Attitude... well, that happens. Long days, lots of lookie-louies, and tons of possers. I'd recommend calling first, check availability, and CALL BACK if you have to! Enjoy the fact that we have access to firearms still, in the future it might be different. |
Funny, I would guess over 3 million in inventory, right off hwy 287 in Loveland, and well, If I had to kiss yours or Hockeysews ass, well, my customer service would suck too! I've purchased from them for over 10 years, Who the F are you? I get sick and tired of morons cutting down the only places where you can still buy guns.. On average the dealers make 10 points on guns, pay for it up front, have to pay wages, utilities, rent, insurance, and etc etc etc, and all I hear is you bitching! Friggin go buy starbucks in Boulder! Moron! Hockeysew you bitch everytime that Jensens is mentioned. Thats called trolling you little twit! Sorry folks, but this crap gets old. If you don't like a dealer, then have the balls to go tell them in person! As for you and Hockeysew, PM me and I'll be happy to discuss this in person. Rant off |
Gee, that stings  Never have I expected a retailer to as you so eloquently put it "Kiss my ass" But in the same breath I have never expected a retailer to flat tell me " I dont have time for you" That to me is a fatal blow to customer service and I will choose to spend my cash with someone who has the time. As far as telling them in person I did. I replied to the gal on the phone that I dont have the time then to spend my money at your store. Never cared for Jensens much. As far as supporting the industry, I do and I dont want to see any of the mom and pop shops go under. It is a tough racket. Just 5280 will get my cash. I think Bob will survive. We are all entitled to support who we want to Dave. And we are all entitled to voice our opinion Dave. |

since we seem to have this same discussion every couple months? I have been to Jensens just a couple times. I have not yet had the chance to go to 5280. I went to jensens and both times i was treated well. yes it was busy and yes i still got taken care of. Employees both times asked me if I needed help. Even though they were busy....I am going to guess that most of you guys work 9-5 monday thru friday. and so you all show up at the same time. |
| I agree - this is really old. Obviously hockeysew has had a long time axe to grind and has brougnt up his phone call incident many times since it happened some time ago. Enough with this -move on. And by the way, being asked to call back is not the end of the world. |
Okay, I will admit that the "cutting down" of the precious dealers that we have left was unnessesary. I appologize, I do not like the Jensen's store, and I take my buisness else where, however, I am sure that Jensen's is very hard worked, and has many efforts put into it. Now as far as the "who the f are you", and the "morons" comment, that is a whole other story. Who the f am I? Well sir, since you seem to think that everyone with an opinion is at your command, my name is Dan. Now, who the f are you? A middle-aged man, married to his computer and the yellow tighty-whitey's wedged way up his ass would be my guess. So hurry now, waste no time! I am a big enough person that I can handle a bit of criticism without having to revert to veiled threats or insults. I do apologize if I am one sided on this subject. All it took was the one bad taste from one experience to taint my palate as far as the "J" place. In the same breath all it takes is one really good experience to gain a loyal customer. You win or lose a customer in your first contacts. 'Nuff said. I will continue to support 5280 unerringly. For the benefit ? of those so easily offended I shant speak of the "J" place again. Hockysew, Fair enough. It's a shame that one bad experience can shut off the future, but that is your choice. No veiled threats. But it is one thing to be able to say things to defame a business with no ramifications on a public board. That just is not right. Especially when you make it your personal agenda that everytime a thread comes up regarding "J" that you feel the need to go off on it again. I will challenge that right, as I'm sure you have made mistakes as well, and both sides should be given the right to defend themselves. Just you forgot to let "J" defend themselves, and a one sided argument, just doesnt hold water. It is unfair to cast stones as no dealer in this state has a 100% record. I could bring up the facts, but it is not my intention to defame or critisize ANY dealer, unless they are just dishonest....and then they deserve a good lashing!!! The point is, that Hockeysew, you made your point months ago, that you don't like X dealer and you prefer Y. Good. But when you go out of your way to defame/critisize/chastise, etc, it is not being done for education, it is being done out of malice. You have the freedom to say what you want, just as I have the freedom to call you on it, or confront your opinions.... I too, could go on and on about how "X" dealer did this/that, but what would it prove? What would it gain? There are plenty of customers who have marked preferences as to where they like to shop. Thus that is why there are Safeways, King Soopers, and Albertsons.... The problem is that if we destroy 2 out of the 3, then the last one standing has no competition, and competition is good! It keeps prices low, and keeps them interested in providing a service! 5280 has a great deal of supporters, GOOD! Jensen's, others have their supporters, GOOD! We are supposed to be a family of shooters! And that's GOOD! If you have an issue, I can't believe that any retailer in this state would not be interested in finding a solution. If that dealer just doesn't give a damn about the customers, then that is a totally different issue.... But there is too much evidence to the contrary to make that assumption in this case. The times are way too difficult, especially in this economy to believe that a dealer would not address a problem if brought to the owner of the store. Not easily offended, just tired of the same old thing raising it's head way too many times. And then having others jump in with no credible data, or no exact details, other than just saying this/that sucks. As for you Dan, you still don't have a clue. You made blanket statements with no proof, no knowledge, no facts, other than you think it "sucks". In fact they were based solely on your feelings as there is no information to support your ramblings. Your statements deserved to be challenged. Dont really care if you like the way they were challenged. Shop with your wallet, it is the final arbitrator. |
