To start things off, Im not bashing anyone here or there business! I went into 417 Guns last week looking for some more ammo for the police academy. Brent told me he would have some in the next week. So I came back today to pick some up. All they had was some Independence and magtech in 9mm, about 22 boxes all together. I went to ring them all up and he told me there was a 5 box limit!? I've never heard of them doing anything of the sort. So I got a little bummed and he ended up letting me take all 11 boxes of Independence and none of the magtech! Just a little confused as to why I couldnt just have the rest of it. That would've made my shopping list for school complete! Not to mention, he would've have made more money. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed!

The very idea of a self imposed limit on capitalism so that some goober can come in an buy one box of 9mm is counter productive.  The free market dictates that if you have it on the shelf and someone is willing to buy at the price you specify you sell it to them.  Limits on ammo are moronic.

You know I understand the frustration of not being able to find 9mm 223 ect......  I am not the guy who comes in and throws a hissy fit because you don't have stock.  I walk into every ammo dept at every wallmart and ask this question "have any 9mm"?  The walmart employee sighs "no sorry all out"  I respond "ok thanks have a good one" smile and walk away.  Almost every time the Walmart employee looks surprised at my reaction.  Those people must take a lot of shit from pissed off fuds.  That being said its the pissy fuds who are only going to buy two boxes.  I am willing to buy 1k to everything you have.  I will always be the one spending more money but I am not the squeaky wheel so I don't get the grease.  But the majority of my ammo purchase take place online  just for the reason of avoiding price gouging and fudd exposure.

Disclosure: I know fudds are part of the firearm community and we need their votes and support yadda yadda yadda.............  dont make fun of them yadda yadda yadda......  Dont start with me.

The 5 box limit is because some dumb@ss will come in and buy it all up. Then sell it on gunbroker for three times the amount he paid for it. A couple of months ago, gun shops were buying all the ammo from Wally world just to resell it it at a large profit. Expect either stupid prices or limits on ammo when it can be found until this panic buying ends. If it will make you feel better, the government can ration ammo like gasoline during WWII.

Brent is the business owner,  and I believe that he's
had complaints about "hoarding", and to quell those
customer complaints, Brent has adopted this "limited ammo purchase"
policy, as have  many other dealers locally.

His shop, his show, his rules.

I will guarantee that if you want to order your ammo
in bulk, he would be glad to accommodate you.

Immediately after 9/11, I purchased tens of thousands
of rounds of ammo, seeing that the ammo demand would
be increasing due to the impending War[s].

Where in the hell were you guys...????

Its anti capitalism If that was the rule of the shop I frequent I just wouldnt frequent it.  But I find most brick and motar shops to be over priced on their guns and their ammo and stopped entering them a long time ago.

Technically we wouldn't have our sport, if it weren't for the Fudds.  I am more fudd than Tacticool. I am just saying it has been Fudds that have sustained throughout the years. Just recently has the tacticool became more popular on the internet.

Now on to the 5 box limit....where have you been?  You want to be a police officer and you aren't even up on today's climate?  Walmart has had a 6 box limit since January in some places.

It is their right as a business to limit how many of an item a customer purchases from them.

I like the limit because it keeps douchebags from buying it by the case and selling it in the EE for a higher price (you know who you are).

I am the asshole who will buy all the 9mm and .22 if there were no limits.

Why?

Because I just got a new 9mm and I have a very hungry dedicated 22 AR that loves to shoot a brick in a day.

But, the limit has allowed those of us who cant hit a Wally every day at 6 AM and check, to get ahold of enough to quench our appetite for a bit.

Which Walmart is this?  The one here in St. Joe NEVER has anything.  I did "get lucky" and see 4 boxes at the Chillicothe WM last Saturday.  I asked for all four but they had a 2-box limit, so I asked my wife to buy the other two.  I was grinning ear-to-ear, thinking I'd just found gold.

Unlike most of you i saw this comin loong ago. Before there was ever a limit, or a shortage i started stockin up.

Working at the wal mart distribution center i got wind that the 550 rnd fed .22 value packs were gonna go up in price from their $8.99 price, so i bought every store out from pacific to columbia, even went and hit St louis couple times. I have several hundred of them 550 rnd boxes of Fed 22lr, glad i did, they are now what...$14.99 or something?? It was nothin to go out in evening and come back home with 40,000 rnds after just couple hrs driving and shopping. Did this for couple months till i got all i needed and now im just sittin here eatin off my supply, its a long way from goin away. Not only did the 5,500 rnd cases cost $90, i also got $9 off with my 10% discount so it was costin me like $90 out the door after taxes for unopened 5,500 rnd cases.

Unlike some when I read this post I think "Good For Him"  way to go what good prior planning and forsight.  Its the people that snivel around about "he should have left some for the rest of us" that makes me think those people are just a step away from being a communist infiltrators.  I cringe like nails on a chalk board when I hear some puss sack say "its not fair"  man it chaps my ass.  Is it "Not Fair" that someone came and bought something before you did?  What makes you so high and freaking mighty that they should have save one box of 9mm so you feel good about your 50 rounds.  I have thousands of rounds of 9mm because I thought ahead, I bought when everyone else was coasting.  I just shop the walmarts now because its like a hobby.  I dont need any more 9mm its just fun to find it.  This is probably my last post.  The over riding princple driving my posting is my fervent belief in free market capitalism, imposing box limits to willing buyers is going full retard.  I'm done rant off.

The Brookfield Walmart is STILL out of all pistol ammo (save for some .25 and some .357 SIG).  I have the wife check every time she's there.

They instituted the 2 box limit some time ago.

I'm convinced there are some backdoor sales going down...

If I was still a Wally employee I would not let a single box of bulk 22, 9, or 380 hit the floor. It would be all mineeee...... Mua ha ha ha ha (Dr. Evil laugh)
