I have been slowly acquiring parts to do an AK-74 build. I have very little experience with AKs and was wondering if anyone in the Tucson area could help me out or give me some tips.

I have a Nodak Spud receiver, it was part of batch with narrow magwells so I need to open it up a little. (It was cheap and I figured this wouldn't be too hard)
I have a Bulgarian AK 74 parts kit I bought from Copes as well as a "New" Bulgarian barrel.
I have a side folder (Tantal) stock I would like to use for now.

Is there anything else I need? I think, but am not sure, that I may need rivets. This seems a lot more complicated than building an AR.

Thanks

If it's a virgin barrel see Pat at http://home.comcast.net/~restoreit1/ He is a member here and does outstanding work. The price he charges is well worth the headache you will save yourself. As far as riviting up the rest you need to seek out someone local with an AK builder rivit jig and a 12 ton press. I have one but I'm in the Phoenix area. Don't forget the rest of the 922 parts. A Tapco G2 and a AK builder gas piston and you should be good to go.  Get your rivets from AK builder, spot on for the money. If you have lots of cash Mario at POH can build it for you, he does wicked builds, and he is in Tucson. This is not an AR build, but it is a lot of fun. Let me know if you need other help.
