It is worth the money. It's extremely black rifle friendly, without any 1 shot every 5 second rule. Camping is extra if you store a trailer. Yes, you can drink around the camp fire, but the Ohio revised code is followed to the T. There is no Nazi factor at ALGC. It's a shooting club that practices many NRA shooting disciplines. Highpower, IDPA, Trap/Skeet/, bowling pin, and many others. For more info please IM. Bigohio If you want photo's, hit the clubs web page and browse through the disciplines. They are archived since the webpage was started. There will be plenty to view. ALGC has hosted the IDPA state match twice, once in 04, and again in 09. thanks |

We do have camping, but there's currently a waiting list of roughly 7-10 people. I'm not sure exactly what the camping fees are, because I don't pay them. ( I don't Camp) As for the infrastructure: We have a board of trustees that meet monthly to deal with the everyday issues of the club. The club has directors that run shooting disciplines, ie: highpower, IDPA, Tactical Rifle and Shotgun, etc. Being that we are a non profit, we use our annual membership dues, camping fees, and revenue from the shooting programs to stay ahead of the game. Currently, we are erecting a new pavilion to replace our old one. We are breaking into the 21st century with hot water, showers, and flush toilets. We've been primitive for many many years. I'm there often, and only live about 25 minutes away. Drop an IM, and if your interested I can provide a tour. If your an EBR fan, bring one. Bigohio. |

monumaker, I'll second everything Bigohio has said. I joined ALGC this past spring. I should have joined years ago. Absolutely friendly to Evil Black Rifles. They don't want anybody shooting centerfire rifle in the pistol bays, and they don't want you shooting pop cans, water jugs, or other crap that makes a mess... paper targets only. Keeps the ranges clean. Everybody I've met there has been very friendly and helpful. Don't know about the camping, I don't do that.
I live in the Cleveland area, so it's a bit of a haul, but the trip is worth it. |

I considered ALGC long enough to drive down and look around. Recommend you do as well when something is going on.
As for "camping" it looked like all the trailers there had been parked there for several years and never moved. The waiting list may take years from the looks of the sites. Don't recall if I visited this year or last but several ranges appeared derelict. I should probably visit again during an event. –– Chuck |

Some ranges are top notch, and others are a work in progress, though all are safe and up and running. To date, there's only 2 pistol bays that require some grading and some #57 gravel with a coat of sand and we're set. We had some drainage issues on the rifle ranges that was corrected two years ago. To date, there's 1 pistol bay thats being redone this year, some touch up on the 200 yard rifle range, and landscaping. A new bird house was built for the trap and skeet program. A new pavilion is under construction The EPA has finally approved to approve the approval of our plans to plan to think about the thought of putting in a septic system, which we'll be taxed for their time, and our misery. In short, we're constantly improving the facility. Our goal is to make ALGC a premier shooting facility. That takes time, money, and our members dedication to the club. bigohio |
