I am going to be in AL two days this week and wanted to bring my handgun with me.  I have a Georgia CWL and I know Alabama has reciprocity.

My questions are mainly around what to avoid.  I know the usual ones - Schools, Government buildings, etc.

But does Alabama have any public places off limits such as bars, restaurants, public gatherings, etc?

I just like to know the laws of where I plan to carry.

Just to let you know that here in GA, we passed a new law SB 308 this year that go rid of the public gathering law, you can now carry in restaurants that serve alcohol (even bars with permission), you can now carry knives as well since it has changed to a concealed weapons permit.   These are just some of the changes.  Check out SB 308 for all the details.

Basically only political gatherings; gathering places are fine.  There is no law restricting bars or restaurants.

not legal advice.
