Okay, I have developed a need ( ) for an AOW shotgun. I know it is a $5 Tax, but that is all I know about it.

I do have my application for a C&R FFL in the mail, so if BATFE approves, I'll have that.

Now, what is the process?

If I get it, I promise I'll make another trek to a MoDCC shoot, for all to see and play!

All I can tell you is that I was trying to have my gunsmith submit the paperwork to AOW my HK51, and after the 5 weeks they, the BATFE, said it would take to process the forms....they said they never received them.So....the papers were re-submitted, 5 weeks later, the same shit....

I hope you have better luck than I.

Once you have your C&R you can start a form 1 to build your own or a form 4 to transfer it from a dealer (or other MO resident).  Both of those forms require LE signoff, fingerprints, mugshot, etc...just like getting a machine gun.

How long has it been since your C&R was mailed?

For you to register it is a $200 tax IIRC, it is $5 to transfer one once registered. So, find your friendly fun-gun FFL to register it for you and then pay the $5 transfer tax. I am almost POSITIVE when I was looking up the stuff for it it was $5 to transfer, or $200 to register it like any other fun toy.

Metalman, that SUX!!!

CMMG, C&R form mailed out last Thursday. No reason it shouldn't be approved. I had no idea I could make my own AOW!

Spudgunr, I have my eye on one in particular. Already registered, so it's $5.

Thanks!
