For those of you who missed out before, this is your opportunity to come out and enjoy a challenging stride through the countryside. I am finally getting on the ball and scheduling several hikes for the fall, so hopefully you can align your schedules before we jump off. So far we have not had to cancel an event for weather and we have hiked and camped in the low 20s, snow, and most recently pouring rain.
If you are unfamiliar with these events, we usually includes an arfcom meetup/campout the night before where we have a relaxed time of fellowship around the campfire and often a night hike. In the morning we do a "Standard APC Hike" and then often, a training activity. Our activities have ranged from radio distance transmission exercises and antenna building to training at a local range. The standard APC hike conditions are completing 6 miles in under two hours while carrying 35lbs + rifle or 45lbs with no rifle. Our current scheduled dates: October 18th and 19th (Hike on 19th) November 15th and 16th (Hike on 16th) Next Hike When: October 18th and 19th (Hike on 19th) - Friday evening will be the Arfcom camp and hangout time - Saturday morning we will start the APC hike at 9am. Where: Lead Mine Conservation Area; Tunas, MO Tag anyone who you know may be interested and spread the word to family and friends! |

I just noticed there is an alarming lack of chicken fajitas in the listed details.

Reminder of this weeks hike Sept 14. Even if you do not want to make the hike, you are welcome to join us in camp either the night before or the day of.
If you can't make that, the October date is right around the corner Oct 18th/19th! @Bye_Felicia @HurleyS @TrashWrencher |

"Some of the greatest dads I've ever seen weren't so much perfect as they were willing to work hard to overcome their failings. Does that make sense?"
Yes. Yes it does. |

And- I have a big desire to get in a tree with a bow… It would be helpful if we picked a meeting place that has cell service so I can work as needed while there. |

I haven’t done that in 20 years, I think I would die I also have not done it in 20 years either, but I think it would be fun to try again. I have been wanting to get back into it, but have not wanted to spend on the ropes and figure 8s. I also think ropes and pulley systems would fit right into the APC mantra of training in light engineering roles. A 9 to 1 pulley system can move impressive things with little (by comparison) effort. @lfactual |

I think LFActual got the ban hammer, maybe for posting one of his youtube videos or something. Who knows.
If anyone wants a link to his website, for Missouri event stuff, you can send me an IM. |

Ive been doing a terrible job of keeping this updated. I did just add the November date.
If you are on the fence, get off it and come out. The camping and fellowship is fun and the hiking is challenging. Being with men doing hard things will bring out the best in you and others. November 15th and 16th (Hike on 16th). Originally Posted By WillieTangoFox: I think LFActual got the ban hammer, maybe for posting one of his youtube videos or something. Who knows.
