I have one AR that I would like to do a better staking job on.  I can seem to justify $75 on a tool to use one time.  Does anyone in Central to N. Central IL have one that I can use?

I can travel to you, BCG in hand.

Thanks!

I think you can just use a good metal punch cant ya?

(Or maybe thats what someone did in the past you are trying to correct?)

MPD142 has a MOAKS. I am sure he will let you use it. I'll let him know about this thread.

Thanks!  He PM'd me and he lives near where I used to live.  I should be able to meet up with him within the next week.

Hammer and punch are pretty cheap... especially if you already have a hammer.

If you haven't been able to get it done yet, let me know.

Haven't done it yet.  Was thinking of trying to catch up with the guy with the tool on Wednesday.

Where are you located at?

Does this look like it could be staked a little better?

Staking on that looks perfect.

No, not at all. My only other AR is a CMMG piston setup.  This BCG is out of a CMMG bargain bin so I did not think that it would have a stake job that was up to ARFcom standards...

I don't know how you can improve on that.

I know that there is a tool that allows you to also do a stake from the top....

From the pictures, that looks fine.

But if it helps, I'm in Cambridge, IL.
