I am an AK guy. The little I know of AR's is the M16 I had in the Marines... A buddy of mine is looking to buy an AR. What is the current "best all around value" in ARs? Just a basic plinking gun... |

Except for Olympic's "Plinker" model which isn't made any longer, I don't think there are any NEW factory-built AR's, from any maker, that are bad guns, so he can pretty much buy based on how much he wants to spend. None are cheap, however. If he knows nothing about AR's, I would recommend buying a new one from a reputable dealer instead of a used rifle. Used AR's can be anything from great bargains to junk, but it takes a knowledgable person to know the difference. Once anyone has an AR they will be hooked. They are great rifles. |

LOL, your poo poo list. Like others have said, can't go wrong with most. Model 1 sales has some cheap rifles, but are very hit or miss on quality and reliability IMHO. If you're in the DFW area get with roseco, he'll hook your *friend*  up.
