For CSR I've gone minimalist so I only take my rifle case to the firing point. I can fit everything I need into that. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Reminds me. I'm looking for a cheap vinyl bag to keep the wet off on the range. Gun case is bloody useles and takes 3 days to dry out every time..bin bags probably do it..

eta; ooh look............http://www.ewetsuits.com/acatalog/gun-dry-bags-uk.html Actually - so was I. Some of the guys had a nylon cover they put over rifles during rain. But expensive though. I had a pair of DPM goretex trousers too small for me but I got Mrs B_R to run me up a cover made out of them. Basically a rectangular thing closed on three sides which sits over the rifle and keeps the rain off. I am thinking of buying a load of nylon dpm material and getting her to do a batch for Ebay. Goretex is extravagant for this purpose ( I just had some lying about. Oh yeah, she has a machine for putting on monograms too. |

I'm not looking for an uberfunkelbag, just something thats actually waterproof to keep the worst of the rain off and be able to put the gun on the ground when it's wet. If one long side were left open or 3/4 open, and lined with stud fasteners on the open edge, you could still have slings etc. poking out for carrying. What do you reckon? |

why do you all have the need to wrap the gunz up..?? mine go out the box in the truck and get used as they should do ![]() Can you bring your truck to put our guns in when we're on the range but not shooting? if you like, its a defender you know, they go anywhere, unlike Jeeps which have a tendancy to break down |

Having spent four weeks enforced bouncing around in our Defender I now have 'Defender Spine', ie my back now conforms to the shape of the seat (which only collapsed once during that time) and offset mounts. The good news is my back no longer hurts after more than a couple of hours driving the thing but I now walk with a limp. Also of course my right arm has withered away, because right arms have no function when driving the Defender. Just call me 'Quasimodo'.......... |

If you carry a range box all that will happen is that it will get full up with crap you don't need and it will weigh too much. Apart from that, its a great idea. True enough. I have one of these: Fat Max Tool Bag that was about £15. Not very tacticool but it holds mags, ammunition, sarnies, flask etc. Rifles go in pretty basic slips to comply with the law. The AR is a military rifle, it can tolerate getting a bit wet. I don't see the point in lugging a heap of stuff around all day, take what you will use and leave the rest at home. |

Because its cheap. I spent a bloody fortune on the BAR. And then another bloody fortune on the Schmidt Bender. Its a big investment and is protected accordingly.
