| When the AWB dies in Semptember does this by chance mean that SBGs will be legal for a limited time with out having to go through any hassel to obtain them? Also does anyone know where I will be able to get Hi Cap Mags come September or Hi Cap drums for both AK-47s, 74s, and AR-15s? |

SBG? If you mean short-barreled-guns, you can already do that under the C&R (curio's and relics) law. I believe paperwork has to be submitted to the BATFE in town (St. Paul) and you pay a $4/yr fee/tax on each firearm. I don't believe there is a registration fee, just a tax. If you mean sub-machine-gun, you can get one any time you want...so long as you have a classIII permit and register it with the BATFE, again as before. TLAs are very confusing, IMHO. ;) As far as Hi-caps, well, I don't know who all is going to carry them, as everyone is waiting till midnight on the 14th of Sept for the law to expire. Your best bet for tracking all the fun info is: http://www.awbansunset.com/ I recently talked to a couple of guys who invested lots of $$$ in hi-cap pistol and rifle mags. They are trying to unload them FAST. Just take a look at the back of shotgun news or otherwise and see what the going prices are at. I would wait a week/month until after the ban to see who sells what. AVOID TRIPPLE K MAGS!!! They are all junk. (never had one that would work reliably) There were rumours that Glock and Walther will NOT be selling hi-cap mags for their guns to civilians, they will still be "L.E.O." printed on the butts. I hope this is not true. My best advice is, wait until the ban expires, then go looking. I am waiting for the BetaC mags to go legal again and pick up one. ;) |
