I bought an AR a year ago, while I was on vacation. I don't have any paper work on it, as it was face to face. Can it be registered with an affidavit?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, as long as it was bought before 4/4/13.  I registered mine with affidavits.

Lol, it was illegal to buy like that, so you decide

You can only buy firearms without going through an ffl in your home state

Probably a typo. I think he said while on vacation and not out of state.

Yep a face to face sale out of state that didn't go through an FFL is illegal per ATF. However, it doesn't have to go through the FFL in the buyer's state. ATF indicates the long gun sale/transfer can be made at the buyer's or seller's FFL so long as the FFL complies with the laws of BOTH states.

Yes, you're correct. I modified my post to reflect my intent. Thanks!
