Don't know why I cant remember the answer to this but I will ask again.

Really?  Why do I not read the law that way?  Did I miss something?  The searched I have done say it has to be pinned.

Does it not require it because it will be on a pre ban and pre bans do not get registered with the state under the new AWB law?

I apologize to everyone for asking this stuff, just want to be sure that my pre ban build is "compliant".

Prebans can have all the evil features you want on them. They already ARE assault weapons per Sec 53-202m. Once a gun is an assault weapon it can have all the evil features you want on it. The law simply states what features make an assault weapon, once its an assault weapon the law is silent about adding additional features to it.

the old post bans are now AW's so if you have a preban it can collapse like always and if you have a registered post ban it can collapse because it is now an AW and already over the feature count

Hey I googled for quite awhile and I got the impression that everyone has a different opinion and read of the law.

Most people here read it as long as it was compliant up until 4/4/13 that after we can change what we like after.  I certainly would like this to be the case but who says a cop or resulting DA reads it that way.  We are all interpreting it in this way.

I plan on using the state range in Glastonbury frequently and the times I have been there there has been a Trooper hanging around.  So...forgive me if I want to get this right.  I really don't need the problems of having to retain a lawyer at the moment.

As for the 24.00 I would be happy to pay it if I read better reviews of Arfcom search abilities.

As far as beaten to death topics, every topic here has been beaten to death.  Its a forum for discussion and if there ever was a need for this CT forum it would be to resolve confusion over the law!  From what I read on the net these is still plenty of confusion regarding whats what.

Now you can get back to far more important issues here.  I don't think you have talked about dildos for at least an hour.

The only thing different about the preban  now is that it is transferable, and unnecessary to be registered.  Other than that it is just an older version of the newer receivers .  You don't get to do anything more special than anyone else with it.

Before the new laws you got to feel elite with a preban....kind if like a dwarf among midgets.  You could have a bayo lug, collapsible stock, flash hider unpinned....now that elite feeling is gone.  But feel good knowing you got one by old DANNEL.

Well, this thread seems to be taking an ill turn, so let me jump in here.

ewetstone , I believe your issues here are you are trying to play catch up ball, and are trying to drink from a fire hose.  There are a lot of ins and outs to this POS law, but here is the down and dirt on the AR15s.

The new AWB has re-defined all AR15s (except single feature rimfires) as AWs.  So, if you owned a "post-ban" with a pinned stock, pinned on muzzle break, etc, it is now considered an AW und CT law, and you had to register it by 12/31/13.  Since it is already an AW, you can now add whatever features you want to it, as you cannot make it any more "assaultier"

The pre-ban receiver you just bought is exempt because the law was amended to exempt all firearms made before 9/94 (don't ask me why it passed, but it did).  So, you can build it with all the AW features you want.  Although you can still buy and sell the pre-ban (for now), it is still considered an AW under the law, and all the restrictions on possession and transportation in public apply.

Did that make it any more clear?

Does  your post ban meet the requirements set forth by the state to be an assault weapon? Did you register the post ban as an assault weapon? If yes then of course you can put more evil features on the post ban assault weapon. Its been that way since 4/4/13 was enacted, and it was that way for registered assault weapons prior to 4/4/13.

If you read the law you'll see they talk about what makes an assault weapon and the fact it has to be registered to be legal. And that the law says nothing about once its an assault weapon, that you cannot ad more features to it. That which is not expressly prohibited is in fact legal.

You can do a tight search of ARFCOM on google by using the following: "site:ar15.com" followed by your search term. That will tell Google to search ARFCOM.

Right.  This is the part that has me a bit concerned.  We here have interpreted it that way.  I do understand about "That which is not expressly prohibited is in fact legal" .  I just don't want to have to pay a lawyer to argue it.  This is all I have been trying to say.

Who claims that? Anyone who makes such a claim, ask them to point out the statute that mandates you cannot add additional features to an assault weapon that has been registered with the state or that is a preban. Ask them for the specific section/text of that law to back ups such a claim.

You spent your time looking up a previous post of mine to prove.....that I have a terrible memory.  I already admitted that.  Really?  Whats your point?

No. I "spent" my time to search for any of the numerous threads that cover this - to get you links to some quality answers you could read up on. That would have been time spent, and I was doing it because I am nice, same reason everyone here "spent" their time to answer your question. I wanted you to have the right information, so I searched for it.

Then I noticed you asked this same damn question less than a month ago - All that time "spent" turned in to time wasted. Hence, my now clear aggrivation.

So instead of reiterating the answer you already had, I suggested getting a membership so you could properly search. That was me still being nice - instead of calling you out for being so lazy as to not be able to search. Hell, you could have even clicked on the "My Topics" bar at the top and found it. No typing necessary.

But then you had to try and bullshit me like you actually searched, and then place blame on Arfcom's search ability, like its inadequate or something - the whole time, I knowing you already asked this damn question, so my increased annoyance.

So I dupe you.

My point is not that you have a bad memory, its that you are lazy. You said you googled it for a while, but clearly not. If you just fucking typed "adjustable stock" (the very phrase you titled your thread TWICE) in to the search que, you'd have found your own damn recent thread(S). But you didn't search at all, clearly. You just decided, instead, "Hey, Ill just waste everyones time".

Do you get the point yet? Your laziness is wasting everyones time. All these people wasted their time giving you an answer that you already had. They aren't spending their time helping you, they are wasting their time trying to help you, because you won't help yourself..

If he's so worried about it he should just pin his stock.

The statutes being pointed out to him do not matter, the reinforced answers (multiple times) for him do not matter. His interpretation of it and that of random people he has heard from is apparently all that matters.

Fine, Ill just dupe yourself.

Yea, remember when you asked this exact same question less than a month ago?

The member search function remembers. Same thread title, same author, same answers, same everything.

Adjustable Stocks - 9/6/14

If you just fucking typed "adjustable stock" (the very phrase you titled your thread) in to the search que, you'd have found your own damn recent thread(S).

I did fucking type adjustable stock and all the results came back the same smart ass.  They must be pinned.

The only thing you were doing is trying to show that I already posted the same question.  Good work.

This forum is the only place that I hear it different.

Now stop wasting your time and go back to playing with your dildos.
