...man, this is a stretch:
ATF Seizes 30 Toy Guns ...wonder how ATF will be measuring chamber pressure in plastic?

Yah, I saw that. I was gonna post it but you beat me to it... I actually know the Martin's, they're a glass shop that also sells airsoft stuff. They've done glass work for me and sold me airsoft stuff. I have an all aluminum GG&G M4 airsoft that my wife can't distinguish from my real one... But that's where the similarities end. This is just about THE most ridiculous thing I've heard out of the Feds in awhile, and that's saying something, cause they've always got something that sticks in my craw... About the only thing that can take parts from a real weapon is the "recoil tube" which really isn't, actually accepts some of my magpul stocks. And of course any optics or lasers or accessories will ride on the rails. That's it. The internals are so different that even someone who doesn't understand firearms design or operation could see they aren't interchangeable. And they're assertion not only that it can be converted to a weapon, but a MACHINE GUN is CAAARAZY! If I wanted, i could order the parts from Brownell's to illegally turn an ar into f/a. THAT would be easy, INCREDIBLY STUPID, but easy. This is another GREAT example of big government which is: unprofessional, unknowledgeable, ridiculous, WAY out of bounds, and just plain stupid. I can't figure out how to hot-host a video so here's the local video of the story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rEuTwYALho |

Story is... the lower is aluminum with the evil 3rd hole for the sear.
Not anything like the photo you posted. 30 pieces valued at $10,000 = over $300 each. I some how doubt they are dimentionally correct and you could just slap an upper and an LPK in them and go to town. |

This is what we are actually talking about http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/theblotter/2011173094_shipment_of_toy_weapons_seized.html They are aluminum uppers and lowers, the lowers have the third pin hole. They are pretty close. However on one of the airsoft forums some one took another one of the same guns and took photos of them trying to fit standard LPK parts in to the lower, and its dimensionally way out of spec. |
