I have a CCW permit issued by my resident state of Mississippi, which is reciprocal with Alabama. While reading through Alabama's criminal code (13A-11-52) I noticed that it states, "Except as otherwise provided in this article, no person shall carry a pistol about his person on premises not his own or under his control". I assume that "Except as otherwise provided in this article..." is referring to a CCW permit allowing carry in places such as grocery stores, Wal-Mart, etc. as long as it is not specifically prohibited? |

"Except as otherwise provided in this article...." The CCW provision is in that article and acts as an exception to ยง 13A-11-52. Not legal advice |
