I know I'm probably burning bridges with some of you just for posting this topic, but I'm interested to know the extent of his footprint in the ARFCOM-type community in Texas. As for myself, I'm about 60/40 in agreement with him, though I have my doubts at times. My purpose is to post a quick poll to find out how many of you have heard of him WITHOUT doing any additional research before answering the poll, and if you have heard of him, what your thoughts are. To that end, because his name alone may not be immediately recognizable to you, he is the producer of the recently popular "TerrorStorm" film, as well as other free web videos. Again, I'm not a shill for the man, nor am I trying to troll for a flaming thread. I'm merely trying to gauge my recent discovery of his material against folks I would consider my peers. |

If you deign to respond, and have no idea who this guy is, here's the wiki on him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Jones_(radio) |

We don't get him here in the Dallas market but I know who he is. I did see a couple of his videos on the public access channel while we were staying in Austin one time. I got the impression he was kinda like Bo Gritz and Chuck Harder.........entertaining and semi informative for awhile but the act gets old pretty quick. Anytime they go to court and start ranting about the gold fringed flag in the courtroom it's an automatic loss, no matter how good the case. |

Alex is like a Gold Mine, Few Nuggets of great value, but you have to suffer through tons of Shit to get to it. His Scream and Freak Out presentation style just loses most of the people we need to bring over to our side. He was (heck maybe still is these days) all over Access TV and such in Austin. I've heard him on the Dudley & Bob show and KLBJ AM a few times... he is a loon. Even on the few things I agree with him about, his presentation style is way over the top. To be fair, I really don't care for Rush Limbaugh much either, although for different reasons... |
Typical Alex Jones argument: Caller: "(insert subject here.)" AJ: "What about (this)? What about (this)? What about (this)? (all of which have nothing to do with the caller's subject)" "Thank you for your call." He's VERY entertaining. I'll give him that. He's like a train wreck. |
