OK, so who went to the NRA's Open Day at Altcar last weekend? Did it go ahead at all? Who ran the PR stages? |
|
Relatively low turnout due to:- Advertising Phoenix (presume no staff????) Weather Don't think there was any PR / SR participation? However, from the Bisley report:- "The increase of 50% in numbers meant that there were queues, some longer than others, at particularly popular shooting discplines (BP revolver, Practical rifle, McQueen)." |
I spoke to Martin Farnan yesterday, and he said they had just ove 100 visitors. I asked if this was due mainly to a lack of advertising, and he replied that even the base guard didn't know it was happening the day before. I think the NRA threw a lot of money at the event and even sent staff, but whether the money was ill spent or there is generally a lack of interest in legitimate shooting in the north ( A shame, but a good opportunity lost. |
Sadly it would appear so... |
You just have to look a bit further North - like Cumbria! I enjoyed our trip to Warcop last year. |
I think this is the main problem, no advertising. I wonder if the NRA tried to take ads out in the local press, and then if the papers would allow the ads. |
