Is there a reason these are so cheap?  I have never heard of the brand but $80 for a stripped lower sounds pretty dang good right now...

I have seen a few that were uneven colored.  Some spots were dark black and other were more gray.

Do they work though?  Are they well made just with a bad finish?  I think I may just take my chances and buy some...

I'd like to see what kind of answer you would get over in the AR-15 forum.

I wonder if they're cast or forged.

Years back I bought a cast EA receiver and despite the warnings of Doom & Gloom, she's purred through many thousands of rounds without a hiccup.

JSE told me acouple of weeks ago that Superior Arms are getting as expensive as RRA.  They had them for $100 as their losest priced lowers and have now replaced them with Grizley(sp?) as their lowest priced.  I didnt want one with a bear on it so I went with the Double Star.  I might grab acouple of these myself before they are gone at that price!

Don't know anything about them other than the finish.  The ones that I've seen were transfers for customers.

I have a AR-15 type pistol made from a Superior Arms receiver.  The receiver has an odd  black powdery finish like some kind of black parkerizing. If I had bought it as a stripped receiver, I would have put a molly or duracoat finish on it before adding parts.

I bought 2 a few years ago. I built one up then sold it for SBR money. They are fine (not cast) lowers, low shelf for the drop-in go switch and a trigger creep adjustment screw hole.

The only thing I didn't like was the markings.

I've been happy with RRA, Superior & DoubleStar but you cannot go wrong with a CMMG lower.
