I was born in NY and still maintain my primary residence there. I moved to Ormond Beach Florida, 250 Wedgewood Circle to be exact, in the summer of 1964. I went to school in St Brendan’s Catholic school for three years, 5th, 6th and 7th grade. I absolutely loved living there. Living across the street from the beach I swam almost daily in good weather. I quickly went from body surfing to surfing quickly. Hung out at the track selling newspapers, my father bought me several guns at Bucks Gun Rack. Shot in the endless woods and fished off the pier that was still made of wood. I was the only member of my family that like living there. 8th grade we moved back to NY. My plans were always to move back as an adult but life got in the way. I returned as a snow bird in 2012 to Naples Florida. I spend January to May in Naples and a few other weeks in between. I shoot at Gulf Coast Clays and Lou Land quite a bit. Shoot quail and hogs. There is something extremely special about Florida to me and I almost don’t want to be there full time because that would diminish my time there. |

Yep, born & raised 3rd generation, grew up in Pre-Disney Orange County, when Orlando was not a big town, you could go dove hunting in the TG LEE dairy farm fields on Orange Avenue. A boy in those times could run endlessly through the woods with a .22 rifle in hand, camp where you wished, never worry about getting in trouble. Seems like a better time to me. There is nothing I enjoy more than a day out on the gulf. Friends, family or alone....I love it out there. Head out at dawn, chug out about 20 miles, anchor, and start cutting bait. It's very therapeutic for me. I do it as often as possible in the winter. Scallops for the Mrs. In the summer. |

I will post up that I am a 5th generation Floridian...my Grandson s 7th....lol My youngest son is a third Generation Gator... My oldest son is being accepted into a PhD program at Florida... Florida is a great state to be in...it is just disappearing at a rapid pace with all the development. I remember as a kid - to go from one town to the next - you drove thru some woods...these days them woods are rapidly disappearing... Still lots of gorgeous parts of florida to be had....Springs, Rivers, Scalloping trips etc.... Red |

| I own one sweatshirt. And I intend to keep it that way. That's why I love FL. Been here my whole life and have zero plans to leave. I will be getting the hell out of Miami within a couple years though. I hate it here. Currently looking at houses around the Ft. Myers area. |

Born in Pinellas Park [St Pete], moved as a kid to Holly Hill [Daytona Beach], LBJ moved most of space program to Houston. Well, next stop was Massa-two-shits through high school [1970's]. Then career in NJ/PA/MD, finally semi-retired to Cudjoe Key [the Florida Keys] in 2004 -- but were visiting FIL in the Keys from 1988 on. Loved Looe Key and all the underwater preserve areas, "lighthouses" like Sombrero Reef light, cruising from Key West to Marathon, and backcountry, in a 20' boat and not feeling worried. Moved to central FL after too many hurricanes and the changes they caused to the Keys -- even many-generation saltwater conchs were moving away. Swore I would never move than a few miles from the Florida coast, but have come to like middle of the state. Painful because of the recent influx coming here because it was affordable, then making it less affordable! |

I LOVE FLORIDA. I grew-up here in the 70s/80s and left for a career. I’m back now. Last week I saw a Skynyrd cover band during Bike Week and I don’t even ride. I love paddling the backwaters, tubing in the springs, walking the beaches, fishing from the bridges. I don’t mind the heat and humidity at all. I grew-up near Orlando in a house without AC. Florida is literally the land of second chances. From the Miccosukee Indians who were running from the Aztecs to Ponce DeLeon who came to Florida after leaving as the disgraced former Governor of Puerto Rico. Then there were the numerous Maroon encampments of escaped slaves, Pirates, Confederate holdouts, fortune seekers, real estate boomers, Spiritualists, Rum runners, Bond boys/girls, gangsters, drug smugglers, Cuban refugees, divorced mothers, dirty cops and dirtier politicians, they (and others) all came here for an opportunity to get it right “this time”. My family arrived in the 1890s to found Spiritualist community of Cassadega. Me, personally, I returned in December. I’m running from the DEA
