Ever since the Reloading Center closed, I've been wondering if a new store would fill in the void. I guess this is old news to some but I just wanted to let So Cal people know that the Angeles Range now has a still-developing store for reloading supplies. I didn't mind dropping a bill or two for some Vihta Vouri.

The Angeles range is a few miles north of where the 118 and 210 meet.

I reload everything I shoot, and I'm just wondering how high their prices are.

The Angeles Range is about nothing but profit, and loves to gouge you.

That was the nice thing about the Reloading Center. Friendly, knowledgeable people, who were genuinely interested in helping progress the hobby of reloading, all while making but a FAIR profit.

Loved those guys.

It is enormously expensive to run a brick & mortar store. They have to charge you enough to make it worth their while. Sure you will be willing to pay top dollar, but many people are not. That is probably one of the reasons why the Reloading Center closed. They just couldn't compete against the mail order and internet.

When I was last at the reloading center, the guy said he did just fine money wise. He just couldnt stand all the regulations out here anymore and wanted to possibly move to a free state.

The money he was making wasn't worth the hassles. Someone told the former owner was retired LAPD.

As an example of hassles, one of the guys was telling me about an LAPD or DOJ sting operation.  A little kid is standing there with a $20 and an man directly behind him, looking like his dad.  The kid is asking for a pound of powder.  The counter guy asks if the man standing behind him is his father, kid replys no.

It's nice to have an alternative to mail order. I don't mind paying a bit more (i) to get things immediately or (ii) to avoid the UPS shipping hassles. Some times it is nice just to see things with your own eyes, too.

The guy at the counter was a long range shooter, and he was offering a lot of VLD bullets. He says he will also carry Bart's bullets. Because I enjoy benchrest, all of this is very encouraging.
