I took my CCW course 8 months ago and never got my CCW.  I didnt know if I wanted to carry or not but wanted the option if I chose to.  Do you think they will allow me to get my CCW with a certificate that is 8 months old?   I am an avid shooter and shoot all the time so the fundementals are still there and I try to keep up with the law as much as possible.

No expiration.....could be years, however, a CCW instructor is only required to keep records on YOU for two years.

On what?

Training is good for only 4 yrs, or the instructor has to keep records for 4 yrs?

On a more serious note I maintain: Name, address, telephone, their exam score, qualification hits/20 and # of attempts, and a few notes.... All in an encrypted database stored on a flash-drive that never touches a computer with internet connectivity, I take my student's privacy very seriously.
The only reason I keep those records is I actually mail them something after the class, and call them a few weeks later to make sure they had no troubles obtaining their permit. The scores are a CYA thing in case I end up in court over their dumbassery.

Exactly!

I keep all paperwork that is generated by the class including the students test target.
