Hey guys...I might just break down and buy a Fab10 lower. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a brick and mortar shop where I can buy one in the Orange County (714, 949, 562, etc) area. I'm trying to tell myself that at least with a Fab10, I can have a pretty preban upper. I've seen them at the Crossroads show in Costa Mesa, and there's one coming up at the end of the month. Should I just pick one up at the show? They're pricey...about $325 or some nonsense. Thanks in advance for your input. |

Special price $289 for a stripped, colored lower, somewhat expensive for a lower www.redstarmuseum.com/fab10.shtml |
Thanks for the link. $289 is cheaper than the $325 I saw the Fab10 going for at the last Costa Mesa gunshow, but the FFL transfer fees would kill me. $50 FFL from the seller, plus $30 for the DROS. THEN I'd have to pay my local dealer's FFL fee. Anyone else know of a dealer IN Kalifornia (preferrably in the OC or LA area) that sells them? Thanks again Chaingun. |

L & G weponry is also decent. you may have seen them at crossroads. i've talked to the guy who runs it a couple of times. super nice guy, he has more of a "mom & pop" type of operation, but i've heard good things about him and his other products. one of the things his company is known for is a golf ball firing attachment that screws into the barrel of an ar-15. fires with a standard .223 blank (which he also carries). he is located in huntington beach. the fab 10 stripped lowers are $295. the golf ball firing attachment is $49.95, box of 20 blanks is $8 here are the links: homepage of lg weaponry fab 10 golf ball firing attachment |
It is? I'm retarded...I was reading through there and it said something about shipping from Nevada to California, so I ASSumed it was in NV. I'll take another look. I work in Culver City, so that would be about as convenient as it gets... Thanks BKinzey. Hey, look at that. 1.0 miles from my work. How nice. |
FireControlman, I'm going to check out Red Star tomorrow on my lunch break (hopefully). I want to check out the receiver before I commit to anything. If you're going to have it for a little while, I might take you up on the offer. Just to let you know, I'm not totally commited to this yet. I'm just starting to look into the Fab10. Thanks for the offer. |
No problem. Watch out for their top-notch customer service over there . Just let me know. My e-mail addy is [email protected]

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not gonna be able to make it over there today. Last minute lunch meeting at work. I'll hopefully get over there this week though. I'll also have to check out LG Weaponry in HB, since that's by my house. |
What happened with you at RedStar? |
| Lauren has always been exceedingly accomodating, I've known him since my college days back in mid 80s. Their prices are a bit high, but I'd support them nevertheless. I did have some less than perfect experiences over there but not when dealing with Lauren. They're not just a gun shop, they have lots of other military stuff and folks asking questions all day long. |
| you guys gotta be careful with the FAB-10's. My FFL went to the SHOT Show and talked with the gunsmith from the production company. He says that there's been issues with using ArmaLite uppers. When attempting to chamber the 1st round, the mag doesn't sit high enough for the bolt to catch the rear of the cartridge. Instead, it hits the round midway up the case, denting it, and jamming the gun. We actually tested one that my FFL had with several uppers (Pre-ban Bushmaster, Post-ban ArmaLite, and a Wilson Combat M4 upper. None of them worked. |
