I have read the Fairfax County site about the process of applying for a permit. It says you are required to show written proof of residency, util. bill, lease, etc. I am staying with friends, so I don't have any of these. I do have a Va. DL, but this is not on the list of accepted proof. I have seen a few sites on line stating that Fairfax county is over stepping it's authority on this. Can anyone here clear this up for me? Thanks |
Yes you need something, is your current address match your D/L? If so, your landlord can write out a letter so indicating that you've lived here for X days or years. Otherwise get one of the bills put in your name. |
You are not very likely to convince a judge that the county must accept your claim of residence with NO evidence. They tend to like to see proof of things, and most of them are anti-gun anyway (the reason we now have a 'shall issue' law). |
