"Asset forfeiture" would be my guess...most places would have a hard time justifying a purchase like that.

The Jefferson County Sheriffs dept. bought Dodge Chargers and they HAUL ASS! Problem is some of the Deputys think it's OK to run 100mph+ on I-81

Nice cars, you guys must have a hell of a tax base.

My local PD has a Mustang GT. They paid like 8K for it at an auction. I think it was seized in a drug raid.
