| Looking for referrals or suggestions with offerings of NRA basic handgun courses and CWP classes for a resident of Naples. This person has no prior experience with firearms nor owns one, so I would suspect the instruction should be associated with a range that offers handgun rentals. These company web sites seem the most descriptive, Gun-School in Bonita Springs and Fowler Firearms in Fort Myers, Shoot Straight doesn't look to offer basic handgun training at the Fort Myers Facility. So, what say the Florida Hive and thanks in advance. |

At Gun School you will spend an hour filling out the form, a few minutes about the laws, then shoot an airsoft glock because the class is held in an office building. I found this class for half price at a coupon site.
Fowler firearms advertises their classes on FB at about an hour long. I don't know what the class entails but how much can you learn in an hour. I'm going to be taking a basic pistol course on 10/14 The facility is down in Copeland pretty near to naples. http://www.altairtrainingsolutions.com/ That's all I got, HTH |

They still have spots available in the Pistol 0.5 course next Sunday.
It is held at the Altair location but it is not their training . Goal oriented training |

I am so sick of this kind of crap. I'd love to see some real penalties for it. I took the class and got a certificate but have nothing to prove what the class entailed. The guy is NRA registered but this is not advertised as a NRA course. We literally shot at a paper target from 5 feet away. I have never shot an airsoft gun before but there was so little air in there the pellet almost just fell out of the barrel.. The class cost me $29 with a coupon. The emphasis was in filling out the paperwork as we quickly went over the laws. |

Took my ccw class at S.P.A.Z, just north of Lee county on S.R. 31. It was a little over an hour and mainly covered the laws of where to carry and when to use force. Since I had my own gun, he offered to have me come back and train on the range at no extra cost. I highly recommend anyone who wants training to check them out. It's nice to be able to train with the gun and holster you will be using. Plus, he is a very good instructor with years of special forces experience. I would be surprised if he's not a member here. I improved quite a bit just after going once, and can't wait to go back. |
