| Anyone here going to Appleseed in Rosebud this weekend? |
|
I actually have permission from my boss to pay for every guy off to attend a weekend Appleseed shoot the next time it's in the STL metro area. He's not a gun guy, but I brought him down to the NRA convention and he spoke with the Appleseed reps. After we talked, the way he see's it its nothing more than a cheap way to get more training for our guys. Now I just need it to be close as I can't pay for hotels and badgers are notoriously cheap... |

Rosebud is only about an hour and twenty minutes from stl. There is still time to sign up. Let me know your email if any want to go and ill email you the link to sign up. |

I will make a standing offer to any KC area folks who want to attend an Appleseed event but do not have a suitable rifle for the event, or maybe you want to take your clan of kids and are short a rifle. I will loan you my 10/22 iron-sighted LTR with sling and magazines. It is a match rifle in disguise and really likes Federal AutoMatch ammo, available at Walmart for ~$14/325 round pack. You might need two of the boxes if you get to shooting a lot. It will also reliably eat up regular old 550rd Federal Bulk-packs, just not as accurately. Obviously this is a .22lr rifle so it will really only be useful at the 25yd events. That is an awesome offer Eric! (Hell, I might take you up on it sometime just so I don't have to drop the coin on building my own LTR. )

Usually the Appleseed guys themselves camp onsite at the range. If your guys are really that cheap, tell them to add a pup tent and a sleeping bag to the list of gear they need for the shoot! |
