A friend just showed me a flyer for an Appleseed rifleman course in July. Has anyOne been through one of their courses?

If you have access, look under firearms on the 4x4 board.  One of the members there helped to set something up at Birchwood for July.  Registration link here I guess.

I may have to sign up for that, provided I get some decent stripper clips for my SKS and figure out what was causing the light primer strikes before then.

Is it clean? Cosmoline and gunk gan cause that, and can also cause slamfires if the firing pin sticks forward.

Yeah, ran fine for hundreds of rounds, stored it for a few years, stripped and cleaned it upon taking it out of storage, now I'm getting light primer strikes.

Have fun guys. I won't be there, (no rifle, money or ammo) so I expect lots of reports.

Hopefully this will go well so we can have more, and I can go to the next one.

Going to strip and rip my SKS tonight, lube it up and take it out tomorrow and try it with some other ammo and see what happens.  Really don't have another rifle available at the moment that would work well for an AppleSeed shoot unless I took my SLR-95 and used 10 and 20-rounders so they wouldn't get in the way during prone shooting.

Where are you located? If you are near Anchorage, do you want to borrow a firing pin or other parts from me to see if it makes a difference?
