I used to enjoy the show mainly for the variety of places and scenery around Arizona. It’s not much like the magazine anymore—I get the sense that Sewell Media Company just acquired the rights and took it in a different direction. They used to feature multiple businesses and locations, but now it feels more like an infomercial, focusing on a single spot each episode. It comes across as less ambitious—almost like they’ve simplified production by sticking to one location. Also, the host, Robin Sewell, isn’t on camera as much anymore and mostly narrates while the businesses do the talking. I much prefer The Daytripper with Chet Garner. Even though it’s based in Texas, he covers an entire town in each episode and gives a more complete picture, rather than centering everything around just one business. |
