The Midwest Gun Collector's Association is hosting an Armalite and Springfield Armory shoot on Saturday, June 19th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This shoot will be held on their lower range, which is just off of Route 26 between Spring Bay and Lacon. Food will be available. This event is open to the public. They only ask for a donation to cover ammo costs. I'll post instructions on how to get there if anyone is interested in attending. |

The range is located on Washburn Road just off of route 26. Washburn road is right on the Woodford/Marshall County line. You'll turn east onto Washburn road and go around a jog in the road, and it's right there--you'll probably hear the noise when you turn, as it's only a few tenths of a mile off of Route 26. Washburn road is about 7 miles south of Lacon, or about 17 miles north of route 116. If you check this map, you can see it. The star is Spring Bay--Washburn road is the road going off Route 26 into Washburn, just east of Chillicothe across the river. Map of Spring Bay Area There is no phone or anything at the range; however, if you need more contact information, you can get phone numbers or email the club at their website: Midwest Gun Collector's Association HTH |
The line for the .50 was long! It didn't help that the instructor spent 5 minutes on every shooter to have them fire 2 shots. It's single shot, we're leaving the safety of so don't touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot (DUH!), blah, blah. I'm sure he was only trying to keep things safe, but things progressed much more quickly at the other "stations." It seemed a bit excessive to me. JMHO. |
