Have anyone here brought any firearms from Armslist? I been looking and saw some ok prices on some stuff. But I’m worry the firearm may be stolen. Is there anyway to check if it is?

Not unless the owner wants to goto a cop shop and have the serial number ran. A lot of times those OK prices are because someone is out of a job and needs cash, not because the gun is stolen. The economy sucks right now and people are getting rid of stuff sometimes at really cheap prices. |

I've bought several guns from Armslist and sold one without an issue, if the deal gives you the willies just tell them in advance that you'll have to run the serial number first and if they bail you'll know why. Many times the people I've bought from on Armslist turn out to be people from here or OSA.
I've got some great deals and from people that I knew from the two forums, so don't dismiss a good deal without reason. Of course there a handful of scumbags patrolling the site trying to scam people. Always Google their email name and check to see if their phone number matches the city and state they are claiming to be in. Any anomaly should throw up a red flag and the anomalies are easy to find with a little Google Fu. I've had a couple run ins with scammers but I've never fell for their BS. They often use the same names, addresses and phone numbers so chances are they are known as scammers and a quick Google will show where others have dealt with them. I only deal local FtF also, anyone not willing to meet you is a scammer, anyone who does show up is a well disciplined scammer. (sorry couldn't resist lol). Seriously though as long as you use common sense you'll be fine on Armslist. If you are that person that everyone says has no common sense, run it by a friend who does have common sense. Also I always bring an armed friend along, the person you are meeting will usually do the same thing so might as well have an equal force with you. |
most likely its good to go .
