It's my understanding that they had to surrender their FFL do to too many violations with the ATF. I guess they didn't have their books in order.  Too bad too cause they were fairly close and had a decent selection too.

I asked Bernie himself one day why they quit sellin guns and his reasoning was because it was too much of a hassel, he said that every year it seemed as if the ATF changed things around on them and it was just too much to keep up with. And every time they came around there would be something wrong that they had done the previous year.

Not in Gwinnett but I like the one on Main St. in Forest Park.  He carries alot of real surplus in addition to all the Atlanco stuff everybody has.  He also carries some foreign surplus.

I must have been 10 or so the first time I saw a flame thrower at old sarges.  It was the coolest thing I had ever seen........brings back the memories.  The other two, I can't remember which was on jimmy carter blvd and which was on indian trail road.  There was another one upstairs at greens corners above the arcade........

I used to love old sarge more than christmas when I was a kid.  You guys remember the old guy that worked there?  Short guy witha bald head?  They called him somethig like shorty or something.  I know the owners grandkids and still see them every now and then.  It was a sad, sad day when that place closed down.  They re-opened in downtown duluth for a short period of time, but it wasn't even close to the same.  I wish there ws another old sarge around.

There was also a really cool place in Alabama called aero-marine.  I don't really remember how much surplus they had there, but it was another one of my fovorite childhood places.  I remember seeing a box of five .600 nitro express there when I was six or seven years old.  Back then, if someone told me they were artillary shells I would have believed it.  I also found a box of 20 5.56 winchester usa recently with a price tag with $1.75 on it.  I think the price was that low because of a sale, but even still I wanted to cry.

If I'd taken all the quarters I spent at arcades and invested it in Microsoft, you'd be flying me around.
