I agree. Silencerco had an awesome blog entry on the stats, considering the rise in the amount of apps over the last ten years, they still have the same amount of reviewers.
Oh well, unfortunatley I will keep sending them money.

It means they start the process and your check is cashed to the best of my knowledge.

The process goes like this: you fill out the forms and mail them your money. They cash your check and put your paperwork in a pile to be entered into the system, once it is in the system your stamp is now considered pending. This can take 2 weeks up to 2 months. Once you are pending, you are waiting for our reviewer for Georgia, Dana Pickles (hes a guy) to look it over and make sure you dotted your i's and crossed your t's. During this time they run a NICS check or something like it and then after months and months and months he sticks a stamp on your form and rubber stamps his name and then you are approved.
You would think that at that point it would be mailed back to you pretty quick? NO this can be a few weeks or more. It is painfully ineffecient.

This sucks.  I mean WTF?  I mailed my form 1 around the beginning of October, and I'm still waiting.   It's not like this isn't a cash cow for the .gov, you'd think they'd more readily service the taxpayers so as to encourage new ones or repeaters.

Soon this will be the process for getting surgery.  Some know it all will figure out that if you stretch the wait out long enough nobody needs surgery.
