[ARCHIVED THREAD] - BSA scopes

Anyone know anything about them? A buddy of mine gave me one, 6 power, as a belated birthday gift. Its also got an illumination dot with mildot crosshairs 1/4 @ 100yards adjustments

They can be either really good or really bad. A cop I know uses one for hunting and is really crazy about his BSA. He told me he was going to use that same scope and rifle for the CLEET Long Range shooting course. I have no idea of he did or not.

they're on the lower end of the price scale, the only one I've ever used was one of the reddots my bro bought, the lens fell out while he was shooting the AR it was mounted on.

I have owned a few BSA scopes....and they can be a quality glass....or a cheesy hunk-o-junk.

The only one I own at the moment is a 'Sweet 17' setup on a .17hmr stainless bolt-gun...the scope itself silver. Makes a handsome and effective setup for cheap prairie dog gitter.

I believe the BSA 'Sweet 17' scope to be a fair quality scope...and it wasn't all that expensive. A big bore rifle would likely destroy it, and I think that may be part of BSA's bad rep......A lot of the scopes they make are designed for target rimfire applications...,that is until Bubba gets his hands on one, and bolts it onto his .338 Winchester mag.

I would check out the scope's specifacations to make sure it's applicable to whatever you might attach it to.
