| There's no issues with owning a colt lower that's marked "M4 Carbine," or "M4A1 Carbine," right? Otherwise, it would be ban compliant. |
|
Quoted: yep, I believe it's only the Post Ban "Colt AR15" marked ones that are banned by name. Yes, AR-15 by name, just like the expired Federal ban. Only trip up would be if the lower is assembled and has both a pistol grip and telescopic stock attached in which case it doesn't matter if there is a ban compliant upper around or not. |

Not to hijack the thread, but since the stock was brought up....
Does NY consider an "adjustable" stock such as the magpul PRS to be a ban item? I would love to hear "no"; but I know that the fact that it can alter stock length by a few inches may be considered "collapsible". Is there any ruling on these stocks yet, or is it a "don't ask don't tell" sort of deal just waiting for a guinea pig? The only reason I care is that I'll be moving back to NY in a year or so, and I'm preparing to neuter all my lovely rifles, but the less I have to pin/fix, the better. |

HOWEVER our authority on here has stated that he wouldn't use one, IIRC. |

There is no way in hell I'm going to roll the dice with my life with either one or 12 dopes who know nothing about firearms and all they will see is the ADA holding up a bay killin' why does anyone need one of these MGs. As always YMMV. |

While I have no personal interest in the PRS stock..................I don't see how it can be considered a "telescoping stock", since the stock itself does not move. Basically, just the buttpad moves. But as always; This is NY...........

I figured not much has changed since I left. Heck, as I remember, Thumbhole stocks were still considered as pistol-grips.... At least in NYC.
I have no problem pinning the PRS stock. In reality, once you find the sweet-spot, there's rarely ever any need to adjust it. I just feel it's asinine to have to do so, but such is life. Time to start buying up all the preban mags and receivers I can while I'm out here. |

Maybe I should cut buttpads of various thicknesses, attach velcro to each of them and add velcro to an A2 stock, then it would be adjustable, like the PRS! .
