I need to build a barn something like this one from Sutherlands:

I'm looking at the 18 x 30 Suburban style with 10 ft side walls. The kit is $2159 plus $1875 labor.

Does $4k for a three sided, wood framed, tin barn with a dirt floor seem reasonable to the Texas hive?

Anyone have a contractor in the DFW area they recommend to build something similar?

Please discuss and educate me.

Thank you
Bob

Why not build it yourself?

That's what the kit is for, right?

If you're good with tools and know how the use a level and a measuring tape i would give it a shot.

I don't think it would be that hard to build, but it's more than a one man project so I'd have to hire someone anyway, and I would like to get it ready before winter.

you dont need to hire anyone.

1.  throw a brisket on the pit
2.  ice down a bunch of beer
3.  invite your buddies over for beer and bbq and a build.

simple as that.  a good buddy will work his ass off for beer and smoked brisket
