What size chamber do I have?
It's an M2 Field

I need to buy some cartridges for a duck shoot next week

I haven't a clue what chamber size but you really don't need magnum cartridges.

Probably the most important thing you should ask of the shoot is what shot and wad types are acceptable where you will be shooting.

Also, try not to crouch every time someone yells 'duck'

3" and I'd like to see you drop the hammer on a heavy load

You're welcome. The point is, it doesn't really matter as you only need to use ordinary game loads.

I was trying to help you Mark...
In effect you asked two things and I answered both.
Go with 23/4" no 5 or 6 shot and you'll be fine

Benelli's website says 3" and will happily fire 2 3/4" loads no problems.

Ok so you're probably going to go for 2 3/4" no 6 shot (bismuth or similar and possibly with a fibre wad).

Going back to your shotgun, if you use it for game shooting the law requires magazine capacity to be limited to two cartridges as it is meant to be sport and not murder (wildlife and countryside act). This restriction does not apply to pest/vermin shooting.
