I've just convinced the good people at my local constabulary to permit me to use slug.

Firstly, what choke should I be using and secondly, what do people think are the best from a value vs. quality perspective

I use S&B practical slug, good quality cartridge, and out of my shotgun they are very accurate

was buying them at £8 per box, but now they are more like £14 per box, will still buy them, but not practice so much LOL

Geco.....

I have been known to win a few comp's with it......

Just got some of their 'new' competition slug to try today...

Geco appears to be the most accurate, in the widest variety of guns. My saiga shoots it just the same through true cylinder, half, or full choke. It seems to work best in benellis throuigh improved cylinder.

Tried the new coated competition slug, side by side with the old stuff Daddy...it shoots to the same point of aim, and just as tight, but it doesn,t cut as clean a hole for some reason.

you need to sign up to view the forum - but no competition licence required

a few of us are reloading with all new components : Fiocchi hulls/primers - vp05 wads- lee 10z slugs & 18.5 red dot powder. works very well in all semi's & pumps, no special reloading  tools apart from a roll crimp ( fits in hand drill ) & a good set of powder scales.

pm me for more info

Lots of complaints this weekend about the new stuff. I hadn,t noticed, and should have, that its a 26 gramme load, not 28 like the old one. It doesn,t work in benelli,s.

However, that doesn,t mean to a thing to me....i,ve got a saiga......

Works in my Benelli....

Better grouping than the previous incarnation but still not a patch on the original Geco slug....

All shot standing at 25 yards, Benelli M2 with Aimpoint Micro

New Geco coated slug...

Leaves very ragged holes????

Previous version of Geco slug....

Crap in my gun...

The original Geco slug....

Why did they have to change it....
