No really! My buddy was showing a friend how easy a glock was to disassemble, while in a CANOE. You can guess what happened to the slide and barrel assembly when he dropped it. Needless to say, I picked up a 2d gen G23 frame and 3 magazines very cheap. I'm curious what a slide, barrel, and guide rod/spring would cost? Any recommendations or thoughts? I may try to recover the original, but I'd still like to check on replacement parts. |

South central VA. I was going to check with a buddy who does scuba recovery... The frame isn't sunk, so it's not a huge deal... It's just the barrel and slide. I am PADI certified but don't have any gear. If they can't be recovered, is there any big deal in not having matchign SN's between frame and barrel? |

If it was in a lake, it should be easy to recover just by trolling around with a big magnet (a nail sweep would work nicely). If it's in a river, forget about it... Been there, done that. Even a slow, lazy river can carry stuff an amazing distance. I once dropped a folding pocket knife in the Edisto river in SC (about as lazy a river as you could ask for). It was a clean sandy bottom in about 3 feet of water, I must have searched every square inch for 50 yards downstream and never did find it. A kid recovered my knife 5 years later about a mile downriver from where I lost it.

Hey screw my friend, I got a G23 frame and 3 mags for $100!!!! ![]() Boating accident... It is ironic, no? |
Let me know if you find my pocketknife. Was tossing a castnet for some baitfish and it caught on my beltclip. Was only a $5 A@N special but it ticked me off just the same... Like I said, let me know if you find it. Just look for a bit of torn nylon stuck in the beltclip and a good bit of rust.
