We really like to boat on Hardy Dam on the Muskegon river is a nice spot. River Ridge, which is about right in the middle of the lake, has a nice boat ramp with fuel and munchies. It's located about 4 miles west of US 131 Exit 131. You can run upstream back to US 131 or downstream all the way to the dam. I am guessing it's about 12 miles long overall. Lot's of hot boats and places to stop as Consumers Energy owns most of the land around the lake so there are very few houses on the water.
Plenty of deep water, but there are some shallow spots, just watch where the other boats are running. We run up there all the time. Shoot me an IM for more info. Eric Edit to add check out www.speedwake.com for more boating spots and be careful when out that you don't loose any of your guns |

There is also a few campgrounds on Hardy Pond. I have camped at Brower Park which is on the north side of the pond and at Sandy Beach which is at the south side. They are both nice places although I prefer Brower....fond memories...;) There is also Newaygo State Park but I haven't even been in there... |
