Anyone ever attend Bridge Day over the New River Gorge in West Virginia?

No, but I've been rafting there.

One of the best ridesn the Est Coast, the river is fed by locks at the bottom of the lake.

Cold, but predictable.

If the weather cooperates, it is a great event!  I sometimes go as an observer,  not a jumper.

I went several years ago...what a zoo.

It was fun to watch, but a monumental pain in the ass to get to. We wound up parking a couple miles away and hoofing it to the bridge through what is best described as a side-show atmosphere. Booth after booth offering everything from beef jerky to salvation (and there were a LOT of those).

In all honesty, if you're just going to watch then stay home. Unless you are right at the rail of the bridge or get there early enough to watch from the bridge overlook of the visitors center, you won't see squat.

Not been there, have heard it's a clusterfuc* to get to, and I don't find jumping off bridges fun to watch with or without a chute.

I almost made the jump last year, but last minute scheduling conflicts kept me away. . . I did have a half dozen friends who DID go and jump.

I'm going to try to be there and jump this year
