Woman Charged with TP Theft Declared Incompetent to Stand Trial
Story Created: Dec 14, 2007
Story Updated: Dec 14, 2007
MARSHALLTOWN (AP) - A woman charged with stealing toilet paper from the county courthouse has been declared incompetent to stand trial.

Suzanne Butts, 38, was arrested in June after a courthouse employee saw her taking three rolls of toilet paper from a supply closet.

Judge Kim Riley issued her ruling after Butts was evaluated by a psychiatrist.

The judge says Butts could still face charges if her mental condition improves.

Butts could have faced up to two years in prison for the toilet paper theft.

Police have said they didn't know why Butts was at the courthouse but that she didn't work there.

do they issue a "get out of jail free" card if you opt to not wipe your ass after pinching a loaf in the courthouse crapper?
