Can I buy these in Kalifornia? Do they turn the pistol into a SBS? (Judge for example)

Easier to carry a pistol instead of a shotgun while camping to use against snakes.

I've got a .45 ACP revolver and roll my own shot shells using 000 buck balls buffered with #7 shot - very effective. You can't use these in a semi-auto as they won't feed. I suppose you could run them in in single shots. In my .357 magnum I can fit an extra 000 buck shot ball for even more death.

Somehow in my three decades and hundreds of days and nights in the desert I've run across one rattlesnake. Stupid dog would not leave it alone.

I bought some .45 ACP CCI shotshells from Turners, but it was about 5 years ago. I carry them in a 1911 when I go camping with my kids in the desert. I fired a few to make sure they functioned ok; they did. I've never heard of them being unlawful in any way.

Yes, they are legal.

I've had luck with CCI shotshells in some autos, not in others.  It seems the biggest thing is that they just aren't powerful enough to cycle the action.  Still, I usually stick with revolvers rather than deal with any feeding/cycling issues.

A fellow Sgt from my academy class had his G22 explode with these things.

I ran a few through the Glock 17, but they didn't have enough juice to cycle the slide. I'd stick with running them in a revolver.

+1 in XD40 against rattlers in AZ.
