I tired to ask this question a while back and it got deleted, posted in wrong spot? At any rate, hopefully this is not a stupid question, but, CCI sells those 10 round plastic boxes of Shot shells, for calibers ranging from 22 lr to 45 auto(I believe they are just pistol rounds?). What is the application for this bullet? Lets say, what would someone do with a mazazine full of 9mm shot shells in their Glock? Is it like a shot gun pistol? Has anyone every shot these before? Are they accurate? |

CCI Shotshells are often referred to as "snake shot." They are common among hunters and hikers in the Southwest because of venomous snakes. I used to use them in my revolvers for just that task and they worked pretty well. On the other hand, I wouldn't trust them in a semi-auto as a primary defense round. At combat/defense distances perhaps a well placed shot or two might have an effect on a human being, but I don't think you can get the efficient transfer of energy needed to fully incapacitate an adrenaline induced attacker. I would save the snake shot for the snakes, and use a good defensive round like Federal Hydra-Shok, or Speer Gold Dot for the real animals. The two legged ones..... Hope this helps. Be Safe. Joe |

I used them in Northern California on Rattlers that wandered into the barn, shop, or yard. They are very effective on vermin at close range. The .45 auto are not suitable for use in .45acp revolvers (it says so on the package). I have not used them much since (that was 20+ years ago, when I was a just a skinny lad). I keep some around for whatever situations. |
| My first two rounds in my "walk around the woods" revolver is CCI "snakeshot'. The rest are normal ammo. They work great for snakes. I have only had to use them twice in 20 years. They saved me from gettin' bit, when I was not paying attention to where I put my feet. |
