As a TX resident and CCL holder, if I were pulled over in NM does NM law require me to present my CCL with my driver's license to the officer?

No, but I think it would be a good idea if you did. I would like to know if you were armed if I pulled you over.

The LEO knows that you have a CHL when he runs your license.

A good thing, as he knows that you are an upstanding citizen who has passed background checks and all. Not an 'unknown' that he might have issues with.

Having a CHL is beneficial in many ways.

Isn't it a 'given' that everybody is carrying in their vehicle here in NM?

I would assume so.

In my experience, presenting the officer with both licenses goes a long way towards a warning, verbal or written.

Same here.  Only 2 tickets in over 10 years, almost 10 stops.  Both tickets were reduced below actual violations.  Generally the respect will come back to you as you give it.

Quit breaking the law, Slim.

I haven't had a ticket or even been pulled over for the last 20 years.

I let em know when I hand em my paperwork.  That way, when they run me there's no wondering.  Haven't gotten a ticket since I got my permit.

Once I had a NMSP guy tell me : "It's nice to see someone doing something to protect themself."

It may be different if you would ever go out of town.

You are only required to show if asked.  I don't ever get pulled over so I don't have to worry about it.

My company car isn't even 2 years old, yet.  I've put 79 thousand miles on it.

You're just jelous that I haven't been up to Charmington to visit you and the Friedguy.
