I would never spend a dime at CASWELLS.
I took my CCW from some Phx PD guys, and they were great. But I saw a recommendation from a guy who just moved to town. He's a contractor in Iraq. He just took his at Scottsdale Gun Club from the Defense Lawyer who teaches CCW. I don't know the guys name. This guy gives GREAT advice on what can happen in the event of a shooting. He can tell you which prosecutor will try to screw you even if you were justified, etc. Even if the cops who respond to your shooting are cool, it doesn't mean you won't be defending yourself in court. |
| Don't know about the Phx classes but the advice from markm sounds in line with what my class in Tucson was about. A good instructor who knows the ins and outs of the leagel system can be very helpfull. In other words, get a good instructor, don't just go through the motions to get the license. |

+2 for John at Blackwolf CCW
Both my girlfriend and I have taken the AZ CCW class from John. He is an experinced law enforment officer and a wealth of great information. He takes the time to answer peoples questions and concerns. In other words a great teacher. Not to mention the price he charges for the class can not be beat! ($40) Though he is on the west side, not anywhere near the east valley. |
