| Has anyone here gotten thier CCW when they lived in Ohio less than 5 years? Im seeing that if your residency is less than 5 years then you have to pay the fee and pay for the background check? Anyone had this? What was the actual cost? |

you have to pay a fee regardless of how long you have been a resident. State law sets a limit to how much a sherrif can charge I beleive it is still $45.oo. The training is another thing that can vary greatley. And you have the cost of your passport style photos that is usually under $20.oo Hope this helpes. |

Passport type photos are under a buck for two if you take them with your digital camera and either print them at home or have to local drug store do it. I was astounded the price was so low. They only use these photos as part of the background check, the actual license photo is taken on site. Training: Military ID card (active or reserve) should be good enough or recent DD 214. Should is the operative work. AGs pamplet describes the training and certification. Best to use a local trainer that the sheriff has seen the documents previously. Some haven't heard of Gunsite... -- CHuck |
You are referring to the FBI background check fee for those who have been Ohio residents for five years or less. The charge for that is $29.00 I have had plenty of students who have had to do this. The $29 is on top of the $45 license fee. |
Yep thats what I am talking about? Gee I have lived here 3 months shy? |
